Morning Edition reporter Aisling Riordan visits Wheatfield Prison in Clondalkin as part of the programme's ongoing Open Doors series. While in Wheatfield she spoke with Governor Patrick Kavanagh and to a number of prisoners who spoke about their engagement in work and training in the prison.

31 Bothar calves to be raised by Loughan House prisoners for Rwandan community
Prisoners at Loughan House in Co. Cavan have begun rearing 31 Irish dairy calves that will be airlifted next year to a Rwandan community where they will produce off-spring and supply milk to a community creamery being developed there by Irish international aid agency Bóthar.
Cian O'Connor visited Loughan, for RTEs News at One, to meet with the people involved in the project including Irish Prison Service Director General Michael Donnellan, Bothar founder Peter Ireton and 2 Loughan House prisoners who work with the project.

Director General discusses publication of the Visiting committee Reports on RTEs Morning Ireland
Following the publications by the Minister for Justice, Equality and Defence Alan Shatter TD of the Visiting Committee Reports for Loughan House, Mountjoy, Portlaoise, St Patrick's Institution and Wheatfield Prison. The Director General Michael Donnellan spoke with RTEs Cathal MacCoille of Morning Ireland.
Niall Quinn visits Castlerea Prison for Charity Football Match and does talk with prisoners in relation to prison services including education and work and training.
