Castlerea Prison raises Olympic Flag for local Paralympian - August 24th, 2021

The staff at Castlerea Prison raised the Olympic flag yet again for another local athlete, Ballymoe’s Paralympian Richael Timothy. She will compete in the 3000m Individual Pursuit and the 500m Time Trial on the track before switching to the road for the Time Trial and Road Race. We were joined by her parents Tommy and Rosaleen for the occasion. Local staff who know Richael and her family also gathered for a photo of the flag raising outside the front of the prison. Richael’s first event in Japan is at 2am on Wednesday and Governor Anthony Shally wishes her every success on behalf of all the staff.
